Vice President Pan Wenqing led a delegation to Hong Kong from March 14 to 15, visiting the Ting Ka Ping Foundation and attending activities of the SCNU Alumni Association in Hong Kong.

At the Ting Ka Ping Foundation, administrative director Tian Liren warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for their long-standing cooperation. He praised SCNU as the leading institution in teacher education in southern China, with great achievements in teacher training and educational research. He noted that the foundation is dedicated to advancing China’s education and sees their partnership as highly significant.
Pan Wenqing thanked the foundation for its support and provided updates on the implementation of its funded projects. He noted that SCNU has cultivated many outstanding teachers for Hong Kong and Macao in recent years and promoted coordinated educational development of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao. He expected deeper cooperation between SCNU and the foundation across more fields in the future.

The delegation also attended the 2025 Spring Reception and General Meeting of the SCNU Alumni Association in Hong Kong. Pan Wenqing conveyed greetings and blessings from SCNU leadership to the alumni and briefed them on SCNU’s progress in discipline construction and educational cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao in recent years.

Pan Wenqing also praised the association for uniting and serving alumni, fostering connections among alumni, and enhancing connections between alumni and SCNU. He put forward three expectations for the association: promoting development through information technology, pioneering an “Alumni +” interactive model, and promoting the coordination between Guangdong and Hong Kong and further the development of SCNU.
Pan Guoshan, president of the Alumni Association, stressed that the achievements were attributed to SCNU’s strong backing and the efforts of every alumnus. He pledged to strengthen the association’s role as a bridge to better serve the alumni in Hong Kong and work with them for the university’s advancement and social progress. Several members of the association’s executive committee also reported on the association’s work over the past year.
During the reception, Pan Wenqing also presented the “Home of Alumni” plaque to the association on behalf of SCNU. Pan Guoshan accepted it and returned a certificate of appreciation.
