The commendation and award ceremony for outstanding students in 2024 was held on the Shipai campus of SCNU on the evening of December 19, showcasing the excellence of SCNU’s students.

This year, the ceremony was presented through a series of documentaries and program interpretations. It consisted of three parts: "Origin and Development" "Pursuit and Exploration," and "Cooperation and Creation."

In the session called "Origin and Development", the documentary shows the advanced deeds of six outstanding alumni of SCNU: Chen Kaizhi, Yang Canji, Liu Kaixiang, Zhou Zhou, Wang Hanqiang, and Xing Yichuan. Based on their positions, they have devoted themselves to poverty alleviation, enterprise innovation, basic education, and other fields, and contributed to the cause of the country. Among them, alumnus Chen Kaizhi has made his trips to Baise, in Guangxi province hundreds of times, carrying out poverty alleviation cooperation. He received the honor for making significant contributions to poverty-relief work.
The "Pursuit and Exploration" session tells the story of SCNU students who take the initiative to take on missions and challenge themselves in various fields such as defending the country, scientific innovation, enhancing teaching skills, education in the Greater Bay Area, rural revitalization, and international exchange.

The session of "Cooperation and Creation" presented the collaborative stories of the tutoring teams, the Olympic athlete team, etc. Among them, Hu Jiawei, the leader of the gold award winning team of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2024, gave a wonderful project presentation that fully demonstrates the team's excellent innovation ability and professionalism.
The ceremony came to an end with a viewing of the documentary A Day of a SCNUer, which records the daily life of students at SCNU.
Students who cannot participated the main venue watched the livestream at the Shipai campus, the University Town campus, the Nanhai campus, and the Shanwei campus in 35 venues.
Since 2009, "Role Models of SCNU" has been successfully held seven times. Based on the vision that role models are around us and everyone can become a role model, it has gradually developed into an influential cultural brand of SCNU.
