SCNU’s case based on the AI evaluation system shines at the 2024 national AI-assisted teacher development conference on November 25 in Changsha, Hunan province.
The system can form an assessment report by analyzing the data with the help of a scientific index system based on the data collected from classroom teaching, which helps teachers accurately acquire professional development capabilities and characteristics as well as offer suggestions for teacher professionalization to promote the professional ability of teachers.
Xie introduces the system in the case sharing.
Xie Zhiyong, the executive director of Teacher Development Evaluation Institute of the College of Teacher Education of SCNU, and Yuan Tao, a distinguished professor of SCNU, attended this conference. In sharing the case, Xie introduced in detail the policy background, research and development process and innovation practice of SCNU in the AI evaluation system’s innovation breakthrough in the deep fusion of the concept of teaching evaluation and AI technology.
Yu Weiyue, the head of the Department of Teacher Education, viewed the case presentation boards of SCNU and highly appreciated SCNU’s breakthrough and innovation in the pilot work of AI for teacher training, and praised SCNU’s case as a useful reference for other pilot units.
Since the system was launched, it has provided professional assessment services to nearly 300 primary and secondary schools and more than 20,000 teachers and students enrolled in teacher training colleges. From the initial training of undergraduate students in teacher training colleges, to the training of in-service teachers, and on to the promotion of collaborative quality improvement in teacher education, permeating all stages of teachers' training and development, the system plays a key role and explores an innovative way for AI to support the professionalization of teachers.
