SCNU held the plaque-unveiling ceremony for the postgraduate teaching practice base set up with three junior high schools in Macao from November 19 to 20. Fifteen SCNU postgraduates will be receiving a 10-day teaching practice training at these three schools.

At the ceremony, Huang Rui, vice dean of the Graduate School of SCNU, expressed his gratitude to the three Macao schools for offering SCNU postgraduates the opportunity for teaching practice. He also briefed on this teaching practice program and details of the national excellence program. He hoped SCNU postgraduates would value the opportunity, broaden their horizons, and strengthen their competence.
Fan Dongping, dean of the Institute for Science, Technology and Society of SCNU, appreciated the impressive outcomes in science, STEM and merit education achieved by the three schools in Macao. She also encouraged SCNU postgraduates to gain a deeper understanding of the differences between education in Macao and the Chinese mainland, thereby promoting the development of Guangdong-Macao science education.

Kou Kam-fai, principal of the Pui Ching Middle School, Zheng Jiezhao, principal of the Lou Hau High School, Vong Kuoc Ieng, principal of the Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai, and Liu Yuxiang, the chief of professional degree management section of the Graduate School of SCNU, participated in the ceremonies together with the 15 postgraduates.
Presidents of three schools in Macao warmly welcomed the SCNU postgraduates to attend this teaching practice program. They also introduced their schools respectively and made detailed arrangements for the teaching practice program.

The teaching practice base is set up under the national excellence program, a Chinese national policy aimed to build a high-quality teaching workforce. SCNU has listed into the second batch of pilot institutions for this program in July of this year. The establishment of the SCNU postgraduate practice base will further expand the depth and breadth of practical teaching for Master of Education students at SCNU.
