SCNU made a new breakthrough at the final of the 19th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition on November 17, winning one grand prize, two first prizes, four second prizes and four third prizes.

The grand-prize project ranked No.1 in the competition and was the only winner in the whole of Guangdong province. Li Zehan, champion project leader, said, "Behind this achievement is the hard work and perseverance of our teacher, Professor Zeng Biqing, and our team members. As the team's advisor, Zeng said, "We always encourage students to dare to innovate, not to stick to conventional thinking, but to be brave enough to put forward new opinions, ideas and solutions to problems".

Since the launch of the competition, a total of 58 entries from SCNU were received, involving more than 500 students, of which 17 projects made it to the final round. The competition was co-organized by Beihang University, China Jiliang University and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. Known as the "Olympic" event of academic science and technology for Chinese college students, the competition attracted more than 27,000 participants with more than 6,500 entries.
With a total of 56 themes in the competition, there are five Grand Prizes for each theme, and the first prize winning project is the theme winner. After a fierce competition, 280 special prizes (including the winner) were awarded, 332 first prizes, 376 second prizes and 426 third prizes to university teams.
