The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Seminar on Teachers' Professional Ethics was held in Macao on November 9. The activity aimed to further promote the spirit of educators and enhance the in-depth exchange and cooperation among teachers in the GBA areas.

About 300 scholars, experts, principals, and teachers of the 11-city cluster attended the event and had in-depth discussions on topics related to professional ethics for teachers and coordination mechanism for teacher ethics and professionalism. Also at the meeting, the plaque-unveiling ceremony of was held to mark the launch of the training and exchange base for teachers from Macao.

Yu Weiyue, director of Department of Teacher Education of Ministry of Education, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Carrying forward the spirit of educators and high-quality development of teachers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area." Yu said that this briefing, which was held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, was important. He hopes that headmasters and teachers in Hong Kong and Macao could understand and carry forward the spirit of educators, cultivate high-quality faculty, and promote the interaction and cooperation.

Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, said that SCNU has expanded educational exchange with Hong Kong and Macao by building collaborative communities for teacher development in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Wang expects that through exchange and learning from each other, educators can integrate the spirit educators into the cultivation of faculty in the GBA.

Organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of he Macao Special Administrative Region Government and SCNU, the event was guided by Department of Teacher Education of Ministry of Education and Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and was supported by Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R.
