On October 27, SCNU hosted the Summit Forum for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) and the inauguration ceremony to mark the establishment of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Education Digital Intelligence Research and Innovation Application Center.

Wang Chunchao, vice president of SCNU, welcomed nearly 100 experts, scholars, teachers and students in the field of educational digital intelligence research. He pointed out that teachers are the key force in promoting the development of high-quality education, and AI has brought new demands on teacher's abilities. He mentioned that SCNU has closely followed the needs of GBA, adhered to research-oriented, and innovation-driven development and actively conducted research and services on AIED.

He Zhibin, deputy director of office of Humanities and Social Science of SCNU, announced the approved documents of the center and the list of academic committees. Afterwards, Wang Chunchao awarded the appointment certificates to the experts of the academic committee of the center, and jointly participated in the plaque-unveiling ceremony with other experts.

Hu Xiaoyong, executive vice president of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Education, delivered a report on AIED to Innovate and New-quality Development. Four other experts respectively gave keynotes reports themed Digital Intelligence Enables Teachers to Teach for the Unknown and Learn for the Future, Teachers' Active Adaptation to the Trend of Digital Transformation, Generative Artificial Intelligence for Technology Enhanced Teaching and Artificial Intelligence Reshapes Education.

This research center was called for by Hu Xiaoyong, and was approved as one of the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Guangdong Province in August, which is a new breakthrough in the aspect of key research of SCNU Institute of Educational Artificial Intelligence.
