The inaugural conference of the Global Federation for Artificial Intelligence Law Education was held in Guangzhou on August 20. The establishment of the federation will not only provide an important platform for the academic community to communicate and build consensus, but also empower legal education with AI-driven innovation.

He said it's the right time for the School of Law of SCNU, in collaboration with other law schools, to establish the Global Federation for Artificial Intelligence Law Education, which will have have a far-reaching impact on legal education and research.

Zhang Wenxian, president of the China Association for Legal Education, spoke on behalf of the advisory panels of the conference. With the establishment of the federation, we need to become more open-mind and innovation-oriented and take a more practical approach to jointly promote the intelligent transformation and development of legal education, Zhang said.

The meeting discussed and adopted the draft Charter of Global Federation for Artificial Intelligence Law Education and a list of directors, executive directors and secretaries of the Global Federation for Artificial Intelligence Law Education. Currently the first batch of council members are comprised of 66 law schools and research institutions at home and abroad.
On top of the inaugural event, a scientific seminar on legal empirical research was also held to facilitate exchange and collaboration and provide a platform to explore new ways of legal education and research in the AI era. Participants touched upon topics related to empirical research methodology on artificial intelligence law and the application of artificial intelligence in legal research and practice.
The conference was organized by the School of Law of South China Normal University and the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence Legal Application in Guangdong Province, and co-organized by Xiao Bao Gong and Legal AI. The advisory panels were the China Association for Legal Education, the China Law Society Cyber and Information Law Society, and the Case Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society.
