SCNU has secured seven awards at the finals of the 4th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers held from July 27 to 31, which tied for first place in the number of awards.
The course "Life and Philosophy" conducted by the team of Zhan Yingying, associate professor of the School of Philosophy and Social Development of SCNU, was granted the first prize in the finals. Based on life education, this course aims to inspire students to reflect on the value of life through the guidance of core issues of philosophy and studying philosophical classics.

Professor Zhan encourages students to integrate their disciplines with philosophy, thus sparking interdisciplinary thinking and promoting multi-perspective integration.

On top of first prize, SCNU teachers were also awarded with a second prize and five third prizes. Launched in November 2023, this year's contest marks the largest scale competition since its inception in 2020. It has witnessed a total of 104,686 participants from 1,249 universities in 32 divisions across the nation. Among them, 1,779 competitors from 483 teams were shortlisted for the finals held at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
Under the guidance of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, the National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers has been hosted by the China Association of Higher Education for four years consecutively.
