SCNU welcomed a visiting delegation of the Hong Kong Education Bureau for an exchange event on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education on June 18.
The visiting delegation, led by Choi Man Yee, the Principal Assistant Secretary of the Curriculum and Quality Assurance Branch at the Hong Kong Education Bureau, visited the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Education of SCNU.
The delegation received a warm welcome from the head of the Institute, who introduced the institute's development philosophy and its overall development concerning scientific research and talent training. Additionally, the delegation was informed about a series of significant high-end achievements the institute has made in the field of educational artificial intelligence.

The two sides exchanged ideas on frontier developments in artificial intelligence for education. Besides, they discussed bottleneck problems in AI in education, hoping to come up with new smart solutions to traditional educational problems and find applications of AI in education.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the industry-university-research bases initiated by the Institute. These bases, which support rural smart education and student teacher development, informed the guests of frontier educational technologies as well as their application, gaining high praise from the delegation.

The visiting delegation found the exchange fruitful. As they experienced the latest research achievements of teacher-training universities in the Chinese mainland, they learned about the possible innovative ways of applying AI technology in education.
Both sides expressed the hope to maintain communication and exchange, explore the possibilities for in-depth cooperation, and jointly promote the high-quality development of education in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
