The finals of the 2024 campus-wide dance competition was held in the Music Hall on the University Town campus on May 7.
120 student art instructors, 29 teams, and over 800 students from four campuses participated in the competition. Upon selection, 12 teams advanced to the finals and received awards. Students showcased their youthful vigor through dance and paid tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China through their performances, making for a spectacular night.
First-prize dance works by students of the School of Marxism "Long Lasting Friendship" warmly praises the deep bonds between the Red Army and the Yi ethnic group.
First-prize winner - the Xingzhi College dance team use lotus tongue drums and Southerners' songs as bonds to showcase the wisdom and talent of the working people in the dance performance.
Second-prize copper drum dance "Happiness in Spring" by School of Foreign Studies team conveys the vibrant spirit of youth and a love for nature.
Second-prize winners - dancers of the School of Psychology paint a magnificent picture of reform and opening up in their performance "Witness" with spirited moves.
Second-prize dance works "Ode to Qiu Jin" by students of School of Politics and Public Administration retells the thought process of Qiu Jin, a martyr of the 1911 Revolution, embodying the spirit of red culture and female resilience.
Second-prize dance works "Spring Seeds", performed by students of the School of Music, depicts a Tibetan girl sowing light and hope in the Spring.
Third-prize winners - students of School of Education paint a vivid picture of rural life in dance "Green Crops Sway like River".
Third-prize winners - 13 dancers of School of Information Technology in Education tell the birth of the Communist Party of China through dance movements in the performance "Red Boat".
Performed by dancers of School of Chinese Language and Literature, third-prize dance works "Quiet Courtyard with Cloud and Moon" portrays the life of ancient palace women, inheriting the beauty of Chinese classical art.
Third-prize winners - students of School of Economics & Management take the form of butterflies in "Eighteen Radiant Butterflies", while each leap is a tribute to the motherland.
Third-prize winners - students of International Business college embrace tightly like pomegranate seeds, showcasing the unity and wishes of different ethnic groups in the Uyghur dance "Pomegranate Became Red".
Third-prize winners - students of the Faculty of Engineering bring the dance "Your Appearance", paying a tribute to volunteer teachers who illuminate the future of rural students with knowledge and love.
