SCNU's students won 4 silver and 5 bronze medals in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2023, according to the winner list released by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China on April 19.

The China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2023 is hosted in Tianjin, China.

Nine entries submitted by SCNU's team made it to the national level, of which three gained access to the on-site finals, hitting SCNU's record high. A total of 17.09 million participants from 5,296 schools across 151 countries and regions had registered for the competition and brought 4.21 million projects to the fore, only 1,260 of which were shortlisted for the national round.

Since its launch, SCNU has attached great importance to the competition. The organizing committee of SCNU, together with other units, hosted various promotion and training sessions, contributing to the record-breaking 1,662 projects submitted.

To improve the projects' quality, a training camp for innovation and entrepreneurship pioneers was held, providing professional guidance on ideas and design, technology research and development, and project fruition. Meanwhile, the committee invited professionals to help the participant teams practice oral examinations over 30 times to prepare for the competition.

Upon selection and evaluation, 23 projects represented SCNU to compete with other projects in the province and the entries won 7 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals during the provincial finals.

12 projects stand out at the provincial finals and enter the national finals.

The competition has been held annually since 2015. 2023 marks its 9th edition, which was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and 11 relevant other ministries, as well as the Tianjin Municipal People's Government. This event has become the "first competition of China’s University Students' innovative talents training" with the widest range, the highest specification, and the strongest influence.
