The School of Economics and Management of SCNU was awarded with BGA Gold Medal Certification by the AMBA & BGA International Profession Certification Association (IPA) on March 22. Wang Chongming, general coordinator of AMBA & BGA International Certification Association in China, president of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance and senior professor of arts at Zhejiang University and Richard Turner, accreditation manager of AMBA & BGA IPA visited the School of Economics and Management and guided the development of model courses of SCNU.

On behalf of the School of Economics and Management, dean Peng Biyu firstly expressed his warm welcome to professor Wang Chongming and Richard Turner. He said that the School of Economics and Management received the on-line visit on January 17, 2023, and successfully passed the BGA gold accreditation in March 2023. He was very grateful to the BGA for its recognition and guidance to the school. The passing of the BGA accreditation was not only a symbol, but also a reminder of upholding the BGA's spirit of sustainable development, including green development, responsible management, openness and inclusiveness. The school would make efforts to improve its work and promote the development of business education according to the requirements and expectations of BGA. At the same time, he was looking forward to receiving Wang’s guidance in the development of the school and the disciplines.

Professor Wang Chongming said that the School of Economics and Management of SCNU was the first teacher training institution to receive the BGA gold Accreditation in China. He introduced excellent cases of other foreign and domestic universities integrating sustainable development and responsible management into business education. He also proposed that the goal of the strategy of high-quality internationalization of business education is sustainable development and continuous growth. He identified “how to transform the practice of teaching, research and application into the influence and sustainable development of the school” and “AI + Business” as topics that require active attention. At the same time, he offered methods for model major development such as exemplary course building by using shared credits and class experiences sharing.

Zhang Cengrui, associate professor of the School of Economics and Management of SCNU, reported on the development of the accounting major as a model major of BGA. Zhang said that through the reconstruction of the cultivation objectives and learning requirements in accordance with the green and sustainable spirit of BGA, the curriculum system has been improved and received good feedback from the teachers and students.
Chen Guo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, stated that the BGA accreditation plays an important role in the internationalization development of the school and its disciplines. The school will further practice the concept of green, responsible and sustainable management and focus on discipline and curriculum construction.
The BGA originated from the AMBA accreditation established in 1967, which was committed to management practices and lifelong learning. The accreditation was known as the three major crown accreditations for business schools together with AACSB and EQUIS.
