South China Normal University held the 90th Anniversary Donation Ceremony on the Shipai campus on November 3, receiving more than 58 million yuan from nearly 40 units and individuals, including public welfare organizations, alumni, and friends from all sectors of society and warm-hearted enterprises.

Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC Committee of SCNU, pointed out that the development of SCNU, a university with 135 years of history and 90 years since its establishment in its current form, could not have been possible without the cooperation and hard work of generations of SCNUers. Moreover, Wang emphasized that the invaluable support from government authorities at all levels, all sectors of society, and the extensive network of alumni have played a key role in this journey of growth and achievement.
Since SCNU published the announcement of its 90th anniversary, the total amount of various types of donations for the 90th anniversary has been more than 120 million yuan, reflecting the profound affection of donors to SCNU and their commitment to returning to society.

Ou Junwen, founder of Guangzhou AVA Electronics Co., Ltd. and an alumnus of the School of Information Technology in Education majoring in Educational Technology in the class of 1990, delivered a speech as the representative of donors. He thanked South China Normal University for its important role in his personal and professional growth. His experience at SCNU allowed him to acquire knowledge, exercise his ability and cultivate his character. SCNU has provided him with so much support and help. He emphasized that alumni should remember the teachings of SCNU, take responsibility and accept it as an obligation to contribute to the development of SCNU and bring glory to SCNU.

In the presence of all attendees, Wang Enke, president of SCNU, and other representatives of SCNU received cheques from the donors, awarded them nameplates of donation, and took group photos. The donations from this ceremony will be used to support the educational development of South China Normal University.

In addition, the inaugural meeting of the Young Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association of SCNU and the first donation ceremony of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor Fund were held in the International Conference Hall on the Shipai campus. Fourteen entrepreneur mentors and young entrepreneurial alumni donated the first batch of mentor funds totaling 750 thousand yuan. Besides, some mentors and alumni expressed their willingness to donate ongoingly. It is expected that the donation amount may be more than 1 billion yuan in the near future.

The foundation of the Young Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association of SCNU marked a new development stage of innovation and entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship alumni work of SCNU. It aims to gather many young alumni who are enthusiastic about innovation and entrepreneurship, and become an important bridge and platform to connect alumni and promote the development of SCNU and its alumni.
