The theme of the 90th anniversary
"On the occasion of the 90th anniversary, SCNU forges ahead on a new journey" is set to be the theme of SCNU's 90th anniversary. Founded in 1933, SCNU has strived to be a world-class university and cultivated over 900,000 excellent teachers and talents in various fields for the country over 90 years. This journey reflects its responsibility and mission as a socialist university with Chinese characteristics. Now in a new era, SCNU is dedicated to making more contributions and advancing on a new journey.
SCNU has launched preparations for the forthcoming 90th anniversary celebration, which is designed with the principle of "simple but impressive and profound, cohesive and comprehensively improved". By unifying the strength of SCNU's faculty, students, alumni and friends from all sectors of society, the 90th anniversary celebration will showcase SCNU's spiritual character and remarkable achievements in teacher education and talent cultivation.
On the occasion of its 90th anniversary, SCNU will persistently progress to establish a comprehensive world-class university featuring teacher education and innovation by mid-century, making contributions to build China into a leading country in education and make China a great modern socialist country in every way.
The date of the 90th anniversary celebration ceremony
November 5, 2023 is scheduled to be SCNU's 90th anniversary celebration day. During the 90th anniversary celebration, SCNU will host the anniversary ceremony and a gala evening will be held on its campus. In addition, there will be a series of activities concerning humanism, innovation, culture, sports and serial academic forums, aimed at the goal and orientation of schooling, the "Double First-Class University Plan", teacher education and so on.
The school's ninety-year history will be recalled as well and be displayed in these segments: The bronze statue of Lin Liru, the establishment of the South China Normal University History Museum and the Cultural Museum of SCNU. Furthermore, SCNU is committed to compiling and publishing a multi-volume cultural series of SCNU's history. Additionally, the promotional video of SCNU will be released.
