SCNU tops the list of universities in Guangdong province on the proposed National Teaching Achievement Award with a total of 11 achievements, as announced by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China on May 15.
The 11 proposed teaching achievements include 3 for higher education (undergraduate), 1 for higher education (postgraduate) and 7 for basic education. SCNU shares second place with Beijing Normal University in this nomination, following East China Normal University, among the nation's normal universities, and its number of proposed awards for basic education ranks first among the nation’s normal universities. In addition, SCNU is one of the three universities in the province to be awarded the top honor.
SCNU's nominated achievements span undergraduate, postgraduate and basic education in higher education, concerning various fields including physics, psychology, foreign languages and literature, mathematics, chemistry, educational technology, teacher education and other disciplines, as stated in the introduction.
This nomination represents SCNU’s fruitful achievements in education reform in recent years, suggesting the school’s effective leading role in the construction of "New Normal Universities" in Guangdong, and helping SCNU’s teacher education majors gain influence in the country.
