The 2022 Graduation Exhibition of the School of Fine Arts of SCNU showcases a diversified range of works by 321 graduates covering fields such as Chinese painting, traditional Chinese calligraphy, oil painting, collage, product design, fashion design, etc., and demonstrates the vitality and creativity of the 2022 graduates.

An Egret Whispering to Lotuses, a Chinese painting by Xu Shuwan.
The Chinese painting depicts an egret and lotuses which symbolize the spirit of "rising unsullied from mud". The painter aims to express the admiration of the lotus for its noble nature and unsullied character.
A Homage to Wang Ximeng, by Ding Yuebin.
The work imitates the style of the blue-green landscape painting "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains", a well-known painting of Song Dynasty (960-1279), created by painter Wang Ximeng when he was 18 years old. It uses blue and green color to show ecological vitality and present the beauty of modern China.
Persistence, a Chinese ink painting by Yang Yifan.
This traditional ink painting shows that a curious child is about to hand out peaches to a group of monkeys which symbolizes various characters in traditional Chinese operas.
Joy of Eternal Union, a calligraphy work by Luo Jiexiong.
This calligraphy work in large seal script (大篆, i.e. dazhuan) illustrates the works of "Joy of Eternal Union: Reminiscing the Past at Bei Gu Pavillion, Jing Kou" by Xin Qiji, an ancient Chinese poet of the Song Dynasty, presenting a magnificent and powerful style.
Snow Lotus, an oil painting by Liu Fucaikun.
Inspired by a report that Chinese troops stationed at the border on the freezing plateau, the painter creates this work to express praise to those devoted soldiers. In the work, the soldier is climbing with heavy loads and he cares for every plant growing in the Chinese soil.
Fantasy, one of the series oil paintings by Huang Hongpeng.
One of the oil paintings uses colors of high purity in a style of surrealism and shows that an innocent child fondly wants to hold the sand. It is filled with childlike elements such as doves flying around, reflecting the imagination of children.
Burning Van Gogh's Chair, an oil painting by Han Xiangci.
This painting, Burning Van Gogh's Chair, is a tribute to Van Gogh. It recreates the original work and burns the chairs in the picture into black charcoal, suggesting that Van Gogh's burning creative passion was transformed into an immortal spirit.
Various Shapes, collages by Wang Xiaohuan.
Using common materials in daily life such as straws, cloth and wool, the left collage reflects the characteristic street scene of Changsha, capital city of Hunan province, while the right collage is more abstracted, using color collision to give visual change.
Appearance Anxiety, a visual communication artwork by Xiang Hengrong.
Given that now some people do cosmetic surgery to become beautiful, the creator imagines what will happen if animals do the same, thus creating the visual communication artwork. The posters in the picture show that the animals will lose their features and look weird. "Everyone is unique, and we don't need to conform to social views on beauty," the creator says.
Chinese Garden Immersion, by Zhonglin.
Through the combination of augmented reality technology and art appreciation, this series of work builds an immersive course of garden appreciation. Scan the QR code and then you can participate in the course.
Sea, a fashion design by Sun Xinyi.
This fashion design work uses blue as the main color, with an aim to make people associate it with the sea. Through the work, the designer hopes to show people the beauty of sea life and awaken their awareness of protecting the marine environment.
Thorny Peonies, a fashion design by Han Yixin.
This work connects the bright and exaggerated floral cloth of Chinese traditional folk arts and the rebellious punk-rock music elements, and is committed to bringing new visual feelings for the aesthetic of clothing and breaking people's stereotypical impression of traditional Chinese floral cloth.
