A team of students from the School of Software of SCNU won the first prize in the national innovation finals of the Huawei ICT Competition 2021, and were successfully shortlisted for the global round of the competition, according to the official website of the competition.
SCNU won the first prize in the national finals of Huawei ICT Competition 2021.
The winning project, guided by professor Pan Jiahui of SCNU, features the construction of a multimodal intelligent ward system using Huawei’s AIoT (AI+ IOT) platform. Based on the scene-setting of traditional ward nursing, it integrates brain-computer interface with Huawei Cloud technologies like Huawei IoT, LiteOS, or Harmony OS, providing services effectively, such as brain control technology, intelligent operation, passive early warning decision and medical assistance, so as to meet the business demand and lower the labor costs. Meanwhile, it adopts various modal control modes such as voice, eye-electricity, EEG, PC terminal and mobile phone terminal, etc. Through the complementary advantages of various control modes, the problem of high requirements for users’ physical conditions in the traditional system is solved to a certain extent.
The participating project forms a smart ward system with Huawei Cloud technologies.
Another team consisting of graduates from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering and South China Academy of Advanced Optoelectronics won the second prize in the national innovation finals.
A total of 426 teams from 129 universities signed up for the innovation competition for 2021. After the evaluation, 134 teams from 54 colleges and universities had their projects approved and received resource support from Huawei. Finally, after multiple rounds of selection, a total of 50 teams were selected to enter the national finals.
