The Sloth student network security team was established in 2015 with support of SCNU, under the joint guidance of the Network Center and the School of Computer Science. This time, Sloth sent a total of 10 players to participate in the on-line preliminary contest.
A total of 3,121 teams and 2,061 players across the country signed up for the 4th "Qiangwang Cup". The scale of participation, and the level of players were the highest ever. In the off-line finals, the 32 teams with the best on-line preliminary results were selected to participate, with a promotion rate of about 1%. The Sloth team was one of the participating teams, which were all top teams that have been active in various cyber security offensive and defensive events in recent years.
Four undergraduates from the School of Computer Science entered the finals with their solid foundation and rich experience in participating in the offensive and defensive melee and duel. The events cover crypt-analysis, mobile security, browser security, IoT-device security analysis, and many other emerging technology fields and frontier security hotspots. Integrating the typical network scenarios of key information infrastructure and other industry units with the competition questions, it is extremely close to the thinking of realistic network attack and defense scenarios.

As a national cyber security event guided by the Central Cyberspace Administration for four consecutive sessions, the "Qiangwang Cup" has become a benchmark competition for domestic cross-industry cyber security entities such as well-known universities, high-tech enterprises, and key infrastructure operation and maintenance units. The purpose of the competition is to recruit and train special talents in the field of cyberspace and to improve the national cyberspace security capabilities.
The 4th "Qiangwang Cup" was jointly guided by the Central Cyberspace Administration of China and the Henan Provincial People's Government, and jointly sponsored by the Provincial Party Committee Cyberspace Administration of Henan, the Municipal People's Government of Zhengzhou and the Information Engineering University.
