On September 27, the Third Faculty Art Show of SCNU, which was jointly organized by the President’s Office, the Organization Department, the Publicity Department and School Trade Union, was grandly held in the Gymnasium to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China.
Around 1,400 staff members from 36 departments participated in this show. With several months of preparation under their belts, they combined the celebration with their distinctive department characteristics, bringing 36 colorful visual feasts to the audience.
The show was divided into four parts: Remain true to our original aspiration, Build on past successes to further advance our cause, Ride the waves, and Forge ahead, which are all derived from the ongoing CPC education campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission", each performance was closely connected with the theme, demonstrating SCNU staff's love for the country and Party and expressing their full devotion and enthusiasm.
Secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee Zhu Kongjun delivered a speech, pointing out that the history of South China Normal University is the history that every member of SCNU breathes. It is the same as Chinese nation. The Chinese nation and SCNU shared the same history, and they will share the same future. Devoted to the country and the people, and dedicated to family and country are the fundamental connotations of school motto: Foster the spirit of working hard; Pursue studies with utmost rigor; Seek truth from facts with innovation; And be a model of virtue for others, Zhu Kongjun said. Under the theme education of "staying true to our founding mission," he hoped all the staff members of SCNU keep our original aspiration and mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation in mind, persist in taking Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guidance and strive for the great goal of national rejuvenation.

Using a Chinese fan as an image, the performance signifies the spirit of being honest in education and be a model of virtue for others.

The SCNU hospital gave a musical and dance drama named Healthy Dream Seeker, indicative of their diligent daily work, and perfectly interpreted the compliment of "angles in white”.
Wu Xiaorong, president of the departments and offices of CPC SCNU committee, believes that "our attitude determines the quality of the performance". Though the rehearsal time was limited because of the character of on duty work, teachers of the union sacrificed their spare time voluntarily on the premise of guaranteeing work time.
Li Ping, the doctor and the program manager of SCNU hospital, said "the doctors in the school hospital need 24 hours on duty. The physical examination of freshmen and other affairs are gradually increasing especially at the beginning of the school year. Even under the pressure of time constraint, staff members were still immersed in rehearse without any complaint."
"I am extremely grateful to my country," Li Ling said, she is not only a teacher in the School of Life Sciences, but also an alumnus belonging to the first batch of undergraduates after the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. "Thanks to the Reform and Opening-up Policy, we have a broader stage to develop ourselves, the Third Faculty Art Show is inspiring and gives us more confidence."
Students from the School of Geography said they are glad to see the versatility and colorfulness of teachers on the stage, as contrasted with their lecturing in the class.
At the end of the show, a brief award-ceremony was held in recognition of all performers' hard work. It is worth mentioning that the Best Performance Award was granted to the following units: SCNU Affiliated Kindergarten, School of Business Management, School of Physical Education & Sports Science, College of International Culture, School of Continuing Education, School of Music and the departments and offices of CPC SCNU committee.
