Kuei-Kuei Lai, vice president of Taiwan Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT), Hsien-Chou Liao, assistant vice president for Industry-Academia collaboration, and Yi-Cheng Yang, cross-strait project manager visited South China Normal University (SCNU) on May 22. Chen Wenhai, vice president of SCNU, Nie Ruihua, director of the Office of Scientific Research and Development and Qin Honglei,director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office attended the meeting. The two sides reached preliminary consensus on a new cooperation agreement in areas such as student exchange and scientific research cooperation.
Chaoyang University of Technology, located in central Taiwan, is the first private university of technology in Taiwan. It is a member of “Teaching Excellence and Learning Autonomy” program. SCNU and CYUT became sister schools in 2012 and have mutually sent exchange students over the past six years. SCNU has invited teachers and students from CYUT to join the innovation and entrepreneurship summer camp "Chinese Ties of Students from Guangdong and Taiwan" which will be sponsored by Guangdong Overseas Friendship Association, and hosted by SCNU.
