The School of Foreign Studies focuses on the core strength of comprehensively improving the ability of cultivating talents. They actively explore the development of practical education bases with industry departments and enterprises, and gradually establish a practical education mechanism for foreign language non-teacher professional cooperation through win-win and open sharing, in order to broaden the international perspective of Japanese students, deepen students' understanding of Japanese culture and business work, improve students' professional practice ability, and expand students' career development path. With the support of the school's vice president Wu Jian and International Exchange and Cooperation Office and other departments, the School of Foreign Studies has reached a cooperation agreement with the Fujita Tourism Group of Japan and Kyushu Foreign Languages College of Fukuoka, Japan.
In order to better promote the development of the base, from March 18 to 20, Luo Yifan, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, Xu Manfei, vice president of the School of Foreign Studiess, and Zhang Yihua, deputy director of the Student Affairs Department, visited Japan. The internship practice base conducted on-the-spot investigations. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on internship content, internship format, work environment, and work and livelyhood of interns, which laid an important foundation for the overseas practice base.
On April 11, in the afternoon, the School of Foreign Studies, with Guangzhou Lanshen Technology Co., Huadu District, Guangzhou, the Haotian Art and Culture Training Center and the Longyang High School, Chongyang County, Hubei Province held an off-campus practice base and an award ceremony at the Shipai campus. The signing ceremony was presided over by Yu Jianyao, deputy director of the English Department, He Haifeng, chairman of Guangzhou Lanshen Technology Co.., Zheng Tian, president of the Haotian Art and Culture Training Center, Huadu District, Guangzhou, and Ye Zhiping, principal of the Longyang High School, Chongyang County, Hubei Province. Zhu Tao, director of the Russian Department, Wu Sidan, a representative of the teachers , and foreign language students studying business English attended the ceremony. At the meeting, delegates delivered speeches on the talent-demand model and the future prospects of school-enterprise cooperation. Xu Manfei signed a joint-venture agreement with the three units.
He Haifeng, chairman of Guangzhou Lanshen Technology Co., gave a speech entitled ”Cross-border E-Commerce Opportunities.” He introduced the corporate culture, development history and important turning points of Lanshen Science and Technology, and explained the industry pattern, development, segmentation and trends of cross-border e-commerce, winning the teachers’ and students’ applause. Cheng Guanping, deputy general manager of the Human Resources Department of the Guangzhou Financial Holding Group, Yang Wenkun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, Yu Jianyao, deputy director of the English Department, Zou Yongqin, manager of the Human Resources Center of Guangzhou Lanshen Technology Co., Li Peiying, director of the Human Resources Center, and Wu Sidan, a teacher representative, and more than 110 students from the School of Foreign Studies, majoring in English, Japanese, Russian attended this lecture.
The further reform and opening up of the country, especially the ”Belt and Road Initiative” and the implementation of the national strategy of the development of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area, have brought important opportunities for the development of foreign language talents. Deepening the school-enterprise cooperation relationship, introducing excellent industry instructors to participate in personnel training, and actively exploring and developing non-teacher practice bases at home and abroad are to become important measures for the School of Foreign Studies to improve the quality of foreign language personnel training.
