On March 11, Chen Xiaofang, deputy secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, received the delegation from Monash University led by its vice president Sunny Yang at the Foshan campus. The visit aimed to discuss strengthening cooperation in student exchange and joint academic programs.

Chen welcomed the delegation and highlighted the recent progress the two universities have made in cooperation. He introduced SCNU’s academic strengths and internationalization efforts, expressing hope that collaboration could expand beyond the existing “2+2” joint training programs.

Yang thanked SCNU for hosting the delegation and outlined Monash University’s global presence and development strategy. She noted that Monash University has long prioritized transnational partnerships and plans to further expand student exchange with Chinese institutions.

Representatives from both sides exchange their views on future cooperation.
During the meeting, representatives from SCNU presented the development of the Foshan campus as an international education demonstration zone. Both sides discussed cooperation in joint training programs, student exchange and other collaborative initiatives.
Monash University is a founding member of Australia’s Group of Eight and is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities. Its Kuala Lumpur campus in Malaysia has established a strong presence in Southeast Asia.
This visit is expected to further advance cooperation, as both sides seek to implement collaborative initiatives and cultivate globally minded and innovative talents.
