From November 17 to December 1, three international students visited Guangzhou Tianhe Foreign Language School to attend the 7th International Cultural Festival. They went there together with their Australian instructor, and Feng Yin, head of the English Department of the School of Foreign Studies at SCNU. At the School, they also gave lectures to students.

The three students, Anastasia, Beta, and Maria from Lomonosov Moscow State University and Saint Petersburg State University, together with their  Australian instructor Tess, delivered two lectures on "Russian Culture" to senior one students and teachers of Guangzhou Tianhe Foreign Language School.

The lectures covered Russia's vast geography and climate, unique architecture and music, rich culinary culture, and diverse and inclusive ethnic characteristics. With vivid cases and lively expressions, they built a bridge for cultural communication. Students on site interacted with the international students in English, filling the venue with frequent laughter and warm applause.

Following the lectures, the international students had free conversations with the senior high school students, discussing topics such as history, culture, and campus life. Subsequently, everyone participated in the English Corner activity at the school cafeteria, improving their language skills and enhancing mutual understanding in a relaxed atmosphere.

The "International Sports Festival" brought the cultural festival to a climax. The international students teamed up with the middle school students to compete in friendly matches, eagerly trying their hands at traditional Chinese sports such as shuttlecock kicking. Amid laughter and excitement, they experienced the charm of traditional Chinese culture firsthand.

This multicultural exchange practice underscores SCNU's dedication to fostering cross-cultural engagement and international education as it encourages international students to step beyond the university campus, share stories of their homeland in their second language—English, and enable Chinese middle school students to encounter diverse global perspectives right at their doorstep. It also vividly demonstrates the international education characteristics of the School of Foreign Studies.
