From November 16 to 22, Chen Xiaofang, deputy secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, led a delegation to New Zealand and Australia to strengthen educational cooperation and exchange. The itinerary included visits to Massey University and UUNZ Institute of Business in New Zealand, and RMIT University, Monash University, and the Australian National University in Australia. The delegation also visited the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne and the Chinese Embassy in Canberra.

The delegation made its first stop at Massey University, where they had meetings with deputy vice-chancellor Dr Tere McGonagle-Daly and representatives from the College of Business, and the International Office. The two sides reached consensus on advancing joint training program in communication studies, student exchange, and doctoral-level programs, laying out a clear road map for the next phase of cooperation. Given Massey University's plan to visit China in 2026, they also had an in-depth discussion on matters related to next year's visit.
Visiting UUNZ Institute of Business, the delegation participated in the UUNZ Global Enrollment Seminar, where they introduced SCNU’s distinctive educational features and development strategies.

In Australia, the delegation visited RMIT University, engaging in discussions with Global Recruitment Director Tom Gifford and the university's internationalization team. Their talks focused on student exchange, multi-level collaboration (undergraduate, master's, and doctoral), and exploring future opportunities in cooperation.

The delegation then visited to Monash University, meeting with senior vice-president (China) Dr Sunny Yang and representatives from the Faculty of Information Technology and the International Office. Discussions centered on deepening collaboration in talent cultivation and scientific research innovation, with a focus on joint student training, shared research platforms, and educational cooperation in Southeast Asia, with the aim of establishing a multi-level and broad strategic partnership.
On November 21, the delegation visited the Australian National University, where they met with the Dean of the Research School of Management, Dr Vinh Lu and representatives from the College of Engineering and the International Office. The talks focused on building a multi-level joint training system, student exchange, faculty visits, and research collaboration. The discussions further consolidated the cooperative foundation and clarified directions for the future.

The delegation also paid a visit to the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne and the Chinese Embassy in Canberra. They met with Consul General Fang Xinwen, education counsellor and Consul Ding Li, and Minister-Counsellor Li Wei.
Chen Xiaofang briefed them on SCNU’s educational developments, engagement with Australia, and the achievements of cooperation, which received full recognition and support. Both Consul General Fang and Minister-Counsellor Li affirmed the positive outcomes of SCNU’s collaborations with Australian universities. The diplomatic missions expressed their ongoing commitment to supporting the deepening of SCNU’s cooperation with Australia and jointly elevating educational exchange to a higher level.

The delegation holds recruitment fairs in Auckland.
During the visit, the delegation also held or participated in overseas talent recruitment fairs in Auckland, Melbourne and Canberra. Additionally, the delegation met with alumni and students currently living and studying in Auckland and Melbourne, engaging in warm exchanges.
