On July 24, deputy secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee Chen Xiaofang met with a delegation led by Viktorija Pleškāne, a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia. At the School of Psychology on the Shipai campus, discussions were held to explore the possibilities of cooperation.

During the meeting, Chen Xiaofang introduced the history and achievements in education of SCNU. He expressed hope to strengthen mutual understanding and foster wider collaboration in areas such as academic research, faculty-student mobility and cultural exchange.
Pleškāne noted that Latvia places high value on education and technological innovation and looks forward to identifying potential collaborations in higher education and research, particularly in the field of psychology.

Liu Dongmei, party secretary of the School of Psychology, provided an overview of the school’s development trajectory, disciplinary features, and internationalization strategy. Professor Ma Ning, also from the School of Psychology, further outlined talent cultivation initiatives in applied psychology, as well as the program’s distinctive curriculum design and practice-oriented training components.
After the meeting, the delegation also visited student dormitories and other campus facilities.
SCNU currently maintains partnerships with nearly 20 leading higher education institutions across Europe, among others in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. In the future, the university will further expand and deepen its collaboration with European partners, fostering more extensive and substantive educational exchange in areas such as joint laboratories, dual-degree programs, high-quality resource sharing, and cultural initiatives.
