On May 14, the 2025 World Digital Education Conference was held in Wuhan under the theme of Education Development and Transformation: the Era of Intelligence. SCNU president Yang Zhongmin was invited by the Ministry of Education to attend the conference. There were more than 600 attendees, including Chinese and foreign governments officials, representatives of international organizations, faculty from primary to higher education institutions and academic experts.
Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and vice premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education, delivered a keynote address.

At the parallel session titled Global Digital Education Governance: Openness, Sharing, and Mutual Learning, President Yang delivered a keynote speech entitled Smart Education Reshaping New Teacher Education. He pointed out that in response to shifts in educational philosophy, technological innovation, and global dynamics, SCNU has actively explored smart education practices and developed an integrated, intelligent, and internationalized system for cultivating outstanding teachers.
In his presentation, President Yang elaborated on the SCNU’s innovative "4C-5S-BIG" model for advancing the“New Paradigm of Teacher Education.”The "4C" collaborative education network, namely Cross-discipline, Cross-institution, Cross-field, and Cross-borde, cultivates a high-quality, flexible new-generation teachers. The "5S" smart education ecosystem with Smart Cultivation, Smart Resources, Smart Space, Smart Evaluation, and Smart Management will reshaped the teacher education paradigm in the new era. For internationalization, the“BIG” global cooperation model, that is Bring-in, Interfusion, and Go-global, contributes China’s solutions and perspectives to smart education worldwide. This innovative framework has played a significant role in developing digitally competent teachers and received widespread praise from conference attendees.

At the Digital Education Achievements Exhibition held concurrently with the conference, the "Shi Neng Bang" AI measurement and diagnosis system for classroom teaching ability, which was developed under the leadership of Professor Wang Hong from the Faculty of Teacher Education at SCNU, drew wide attention as a representative case of AI application in education.
