SCNU achieved new success in both liberal arts and sciences, according to the 2024 Chinese Universities Liberal Arts Power Ranking and Chinese Universities Sciences Power Ranking released by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy recently.

In the ranking category of liberal arts, SCNU ranked 25th of 469 universities nationwide, improving by 4 positions compared to last year, and placed 3rd among universities in Guangdong province, being one of the Chinese A-class universities in liberal arts.

In the sciences category, SCNU ranked 41st among 418 universities nationwide and remained the 4th among universities in Guangdong province, being one of the Chinese A-class universities in sciences.

The rating system evaluates the universities based on 8 dimensions: scale of disciplines, academic strength, the number of top disciplines, high-end talents, research projects, significant achievements, academic papers and research platforms, with a total of 33 indicators, offering a comprehensive assessment for discipline construction in universities.
