From November 23 to 30, Chen Zhenghong, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC SCNU Committee, led a delegation to Thailand and Indonesia for exchange and alumni visits.
The delegation visited the Confucius Institute of Chulalongkorn University, the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, the Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Asia International Friendship College (AIFC), the North Sumatra Chinese Community Social and Education Association (MITSU-PSP) and the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Medan.

At the Confucius Institute of Chulalongkorn University, the delegation held a meeting with Han Shenglong, the Chinese president of the Confucius Institute, together with Wang Baohua, a SCNU teacher working at Chulalongkorn University. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on cultivating international Chinese language education talents and selecting volunteers. The delegation also visited the Sirindhorn Chinese Language Library and the Chinese Cultural Activity Center.

During the visit to the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, the delegation had in-depth discussions with Sun Lei, director of the International Education Center, and relevant staff on talent cultivation and cultural exchange. Both sides expressed their willingness to promote the progress and development of education in the two countries.

The delegation then moved on to Indonesia. During the visit to Asia International Friendship College, the delegation reviewed the cooperation projects between the two sides with Berlin Sibarani, president of the college, and expressed the wish to work together to expand new cooperation and contribute to the educational and cultural exchange between the two countries. During the visit, Chen Zhenghong, on behalf of South China Normal Univetrsity, presented an alumni flag and a plaque to the Indonesian Alumni Association of SCNU.

During the visit to the North Sumatra Chinese Community Social and Education Association (MITSU-PSP), Chen Zhenghong held a meeting with Fadjar Suhendra, chairman of MITSU-PSP, to deepen and expand the cooperation in the “2+2” undergraduate joint training program. The two sides exchanged opinions and suggestions on the educational cultivation funding, “2+2” project publicity, and other matters.

While in Thailand and Indonesia, the delegation also visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand and the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Medan. Chen Zhenghong introduced the situation of SCNU, and the bilateral cooperation with the two countries, which received recognition and support from the heads of the embassies and consulates general.
The delegation holds recruitment meetings.
The delegation then held overseas recruitment meetings in Thailand and Indonesia, where they introduced the general situation, foreign personnel exchange, application procedures, and scholarship policies of SCNU and exchanging with foreign students who are interested in studying at South China Normal University. Later on, the delegation also visited alumni, teachers, and students living and studying there, and conveyed cordial greetings from Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, and Yang Zhongmin, president of SCNU, who expressed that SCNU has always been concerned about their studies and lives, and wished them success in their studies and work.
