To further promote the spirit of educators and enhance the in-depth exchange and cooperation among teachers from the three regions of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the construction of teacher ethics and professionalism,the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Seminar on Teachers' Professional Ethics kicked off in Macao on Saturday.
The two-day seminar gathered over 300 scholars, experts, principals, and teachers of the 11-city cluster.
Yu Weiyue, director of the Department of Teachers' Affairs at the Ministry of Education, delivered a key report to the seminar with the theme of vigorously promoting the spirit of educators and advancing the high-quality development of teachers in the Greater Bay Area.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the event, Chen Wei, a high-level official of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the CPC Central Committee, pointed out that the Hong Kong and Macao governments have spared no effort in strengthening the cultivation and exchange among teaching staff, including the teacher’s professional ethics such as patriotism education.
Kong Chi-meng, director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao believed that the seminar can significantly promote the educational work in Macao.
Zhu Jianhua, deputy director of the Department of Education of Guangdong province, believes the event can help promote the spirit of educators among teachers, foster education collaboration in the Greater Bay Area, and cultivate more teachers with a patriotic spirit.
Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC Party Committee of South China Normal University, said that after six-year development, the seminar has become a flagship education event in GBA. He hopes all participants can share wisdom and experience to promote the educational collaboration within GBA and help the region make greater contributions to the nation’s education development.
