Wang Chunchao, vice president of SCNU received an Indonesian delegation led by Fadjar Suhendra, chairman of the North Sumatra Chinese Community Social and Education Association (MITSU-PSP) on October 29. Both sides had an exchange meeting to discuss deepening cooperation in Chinese language education.

Wang Chunchao, on behalf of SCNU, warmly welcomed the guests and briefed them on the school-running condition. He said that SCNU has been supporting training programs, developing curricula, training teacher teams, and endeavored to cultivate advanced Chinese-speaking talents in North Sumatra, in Indonesia since the establishment of the Asia International Friendship College (AIFC) in 2008.
Wang hoped to continue to deepen the "2+2" undergraduate joint training program and cooperate with the Cinta Budaya School and Medan Mulia School in undergraduate enrollment from high schools; to provide immersive cultural experiences for Indonesian students through cooperation in winter and summer camps, and the "Chinese Bridge" program; and to explore cooperative development of the Indonesia Dongpo College to further expand the field of educational cooperation.

Fadjar Suhendra expressed his gratitude to SCNU for sending graduate students to support and conduct overseas Chinese language education since the beginning of Chinese language education in North Sumatra. Overseas Chinese language education is now facing various challenges, therefore there should be a strong effort to train Chinese language teachers to fulfill the wish to make Chinese courses compulsory as soon as possible, said Suhendra.
He hoped that both sides would continue to cooperate and carry out a new round of cooperation and exchange in the Indonesia Dongpo College following a good example of cooperation between AIFC and SCNU. In addition, Mr. Suhendra extended an invitation to send SCNU's representatives to attend the inauguration ceremony of the college, which will be completed at the end of August next year.
Sukardi Tandiono, chairman of the Education Foundation of Cinta Budaya, Medan Mulia and Cinta Mulia, praises SCNU's contribution to Chinese language education in Indonesia.
Sukardi Tandiono, chairman of the Education Foundation of Cinta Budaya, Medan Mulia and Cinta Mulia, also showed appreciation for SCNU's support in Chinese language education in Indonesia. He stated that overseas intern graduate students of SCNU have upheld the local Chinese education cause with their excellent and high-quality teaching performance, which has won high praise from Indonesian students' parents and teaching institutions.
The two sides discussed deepening their cooperation in Chinese language education, and suggested exploring new forms of cooperation with the Indonesia Dongpo College and a new model for on-the-job graduate students from Indonesia to study in China. An online-formed bridge for exchange between Chinese and Indonesian primary and middle school students was also taken into consideration. At the end of the meeting, the delegation also visited the history museum of SCNU.

Established in 2004, the North Sumatra Chinese Community Social and Education Association, a coalition of Chinese organizations and Chinese community leaders in North Sumatra, is an association devoted to social charity and education improvement.
