On June 7, the People's Government of Guangdong Province announced the results of the 10th Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. Fifity-eight achievements of SCNU were honored with prizes, the number of awarded entries ranking second in Guangdong province.

Among the 58 awards, there were 14 first prizes, 22 second prizes and 22 third prizes. The awarded projects include 10 books, 43 papers and 5 research reports, covering various disciplines such as psychology, education, political science, literature, history and art.

The award ceremony was held in Guangzhou on June 28. Professor Chen Jinlong of the School of Marxism of SCNU, also one of the awarded scientists, was invited to deliver a speech at the event, which was joined by nearly 150 people including government officials, representatives of awardees and experts from related fields.

The Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, a bi-annual event, is the highest level and most influential government award in the field of philosophy and social sciences in Guangdong province. A total of 110 first prizes, 192 second prizes and 198 third prizes were granted this year.
