SCNU president Yang Zhongmin received a delegation from the University of Twente (UT) on May 27. During their meeting, SCNU and the UT signed an agreement on double PhD program, futher promoting collaboration between the two sides.

Yang Zhongmin first extended a warm welcome to the delegation headed by UT's rector magnificus Tom Veldkamp. Yang then gave an introduction of the development of SCNU over the recent years. He spoke highly of the long-standing and fruitful collaboration between the two universities. After exchanging views on the Sino-Dutch scientific research collaboration, the two sides reached a consensus of strengthening complementarity between SCNU and the UT and further promoting exchanges and cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides signed the Agreement on a Double PhD Program (Phase II). Early in 2016, the two universities signed an agreement on the Double PhD Program of Phase I. So far, a dozen doctorates have completed the program and have collectively published 25 high-quality papers.

The delegation also visited the Joint Laboratory of Optofluidic Technologies and Systems which was jointly established in 2016, and the joint research laboratory Device Integrated Responsive Materials (DIRM), established in collaboration with Eindhoven University of Technology.
