International students of South China Normal University participated in the "Charming Guangdong, Living My Dreams" 2023 International Students Gala and won the second prize in the performance category.
The team consisting of a dozen of international students from the School of International Culture staged a martial arts performance, showcasing their outstanding martial arts skills. Accompanied by the slow and ethereal music, they held the Tai-Chi fans and wielded dual Tai-Chi swords to show the audience the artistic beauty of dance and the grace of martial arts.

Another performance "Studying in the City of Rams (referring to Guangzhou)" told the story of international students Ma Long (Russia), Lei Yajin (Latvia), and Ji Ruila (Sierra Leone), who travelled from afar to China to study and were motivated to become ambassadors for Sino-foreign cultural exchange. Their determination won endless applause and was highly praised by the judges and the audience. "Studying in the City of Rams" was awarded the third prize in the language category.

The "Charming Guangdong, Living My Dreams" 2023 International Students Gala was held at South China Agricultural University on December 18. Under the theme of "Uniting Youthful Dreams, Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind", about 1,000 international students from 60 countries attended the gala. Chen Xiaoling, deputy secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of International Culture, led the SCNU students' team to the gala and served as a judge at the event.
The gala, the sixth of its kind, was co-hosted by the Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association, the Guangdong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Guangdong Education Association for International Exchange. Based on cultural performances, the activities form a bridge for international students to understand and learn about the excellent traditional Chinese culture and regional Lingnan culture, to know China, to talk about their life in Guangdong, and to promote cultural exchange and integration with people from different countries.
