SCNU held the 6th International Conference on Education Technology Management (ICETM 2023) from November 3 to November 5, with technological support from the State University of New York.
ICETM 2023 adopted a mode, with seminars which could be attended at the main venue and followed on line. Seventy-nine delegates (twenty international delegates included) were present at the conference center. The total number of participants in the field of educational technology management amounted to 600. They were mainly from China, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Romania, Ecuador, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Sixty-two submissions were reviewed and accepted by experts from 190 received papers in total.

Li Chuanjiang, vice president of SCNU delivered an opening speech on behalf of the school at the main venue. He introduced the history and current development of SCNU. He also expressed his wish for more academic exchange with participants from the universities in various countries.
Professor Zhang Xuebo expresses his hope.
Professor Zhang Xuebo, chairman of the conference and dean of the School of Education Information Technology, expressed his hope that the participants may establish more extensive contacts and cooperation through the conference, and jointly promote the development of education technology management.
In the sub-forums, nearly 50 delegates had a lively discussion concerning blended or on-line learning and modern educational technology, applications of artificial intelligence in education and learning analysis, and innovative teaching models, etc.
Besides, Professor Zhang Mingzhi from Athabasca University, Professor Lü Cijie and Professor Zheng Meihong from the Education University of Hong Kong, and Professor Wang Qiong from Peking University were invited to give keynote speeches. Xin Haiyang, the founder of China CocoRobo was invited to make a report.
At the conference the Chinese Forum of Interdisciplinary Thematic Learning convened and the third round of practical seminars of the C-STEAM Education Collaborative Innovation Project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (CS-GBC) took place. At the forums, many teachers and experts from primary and secondary schools held in-depth discussions on specific cross-disciplinary teaching cases. The cases reflected a diversified practice pattern of cultural traditions and scientific and technological innovation. They attracted many teachers’ and students’ participation.

Then, too, the conference set up a special forum in the field of "smart education". The forum is a professional communication platform for researchers and first-line teachers of primary and secondary schools engaged in smart education. It fully demonstrated the reform effect of innovative practice, science and precision in basic education in Guangdong province. It also provided more insight into empirical findings which support the reshaping of modern classes through digital and intelligent teaching modes, and the promotion of interdisciplinary integration and cross-border cooperation.

The conference has further stimulated teachers' and students' enthusiasm for scientific research, and expanded the participants’ scope of knowledge. In the future, the School of Information Technology in Education of SCNU will continue to contribute to cutting-edge developments, and continue to organize international conferences about information technology in education.
