Twenty-one general research projects of SCNU got approvals for the 2023 Humanities and Social Science Research Fund, according to the appraisal results announced by the Ministry of Education (MOE). 

The number of projects approved ranks second among national teacher training colleges, making the approval rate 21%, which is 13% higher than the national average. The approved projects consist of ten projects for the planning fund and eleven for the youth fund.

The projects are distributed over 9 disciplines: 5 in Psychology, 4 in Education, 4 in Arts, 2 each in Interdisciplinary/Comprehensive Research, and in Linguistics, 1 project in Journalism and Communication, 1 in Ethnology and Culture, 1 in Sociology, and 1 in Chinese Literature respectively.
