Seven education programs of SCNU have been approved and received funding from the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), according to the list for the 2022 NSSFC Educational Program issued recently. Among them, one is listed as a major project, the first-ever one of its kind for our university. Only ten major projects have been approved nationwide.
That major project, named "Research on the Construction of High-quality Teacher Education System & the Rationing of Teacher Supply and Demand in the New Era" has been submitted by Professor Wang Hong of the College of Teacher Education. In accordance with China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, Prof. Wang's project is committed to building a high-quality teacher education system in the new era, which is demand-oriented and serves all; optimizing the connection between supply and demand, and effectively adjusting the teacher rationing system. The program will contribute to the development of high-quality professional and innovative teaching staff and implemention of the human resource strategies of China.
The other six projects include four general projects and two youth projects, covering four areas in education, including Educational Information Technology, Educational Economy & Management, Comparative Education and Vocational & Technical Education.
In recent years, SCNU has attached great importance to the national projects, carried out various "organized scientific research activities", and improved its organizational planning. For example, it organized three rounds of experts to conduct project counseling and evaluation. With joint effort, SCNU has made continuous breakthroughs and achieved remarkable results.
In terms of numbers, SCNU ranks ninth in the country and first in Guangdong province. SCNU's 2022 NSSFC Educational Program has a project approval rate of 50%, ranking first nationwide.
This year, a total of 341 projects are funded across the country, including 10 major bidding projects, 19 major projects, 242 general projects, 58 youth projects and 12 western China projects.
