The cooperation between SCNU and the association dates back to as early as 1985, when SCNU was among the first to begin mainland-Macao cooperatively-run schools. Over the past 35 years, SCNU has continuously cultivated more than 10,383 talents for Macao through various forms such as academic education and non-academic education, injecting new vitality into Macao's educational cause.
From 2008 to 2018, SCNU has fostered and trained nearly 4,800 teachers for Macao's basic education system, accounting for roughly 70% of the total number of teachers working in kindergartens, middle and primary schools at that time, according to statistics from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau in 2018.
Established in 1920, as the earliest and most influential educational organization in the region, the Chinese Educators Association of Macau currently comprises a vast membership including institutional members from 32 universities and over 5,000 individuals, and seven out of every ten teachers in Macao are its members. It has been committed to promoting educational development in Macao by perfecting educational legislation, and upholding the rights and interests of teachers. In doing so, it also facilitated the long-term prosperity and stability in the region, according to a news report from the liaison office.
