Deborah Terry said that in recent years, Curtin University has also attached great importance to the development strategy of internationally running schools, and has always regarded South China Normal University as one of China's important partners. The two sides agreed that the establishment of the International Joint College will provide a good platform for deeper, broader and higher-level cooperation between China and Australia. They are also confident of the smooth and sustainable development of the joint training project.
In November 2018, our university and Curtin University signed a framework agreement on joint training at the ceremony of the establishment of the International Joint College and the signing of the international school-running ceremony at the Nanhai campus. The meeting between the deans of the two sides and the signing of the cooperation agreement on joint training projects marked that the two schools further carried out substantive joint training cooperation and exploration in the aspects of developing cooperative majors, introducing core courses, developing curriculum teams and personnel training research and management teams. Based on the principle of "one-to-many", the International Joint College of South China Normal University has introduced foreign high-quality educational resources, carried out in-depth joint training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, deepening the comprehensive reform of education and trained international practical talents. In 2019, our university and Curtin University co-sponsored four undergraduate joint training and innovation courses, including financial management, information and computer science, electronic information engineering and e-commerce. The project adopts the joint training modes of 2+2 or 2+1.5+0.5. By introducing the core courses and the English Language Bridge (ELB) Course Curtin University, students can enjoy high-quality educational resources abroad as well as at home, and at the same time create opportunities for students to study in a degree program at a foreign university.
