This course is set for those whose native language is not Chinese or overseas Chinese and designed for those who wish to become international Chinese teachers. The object is to train students to be skillful in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and equipped students with the cross-cultural ability. Graduation certificates will be issued when students have fulfilled the stipulated curriculum, acquired enough credits and completed the thesis. Students who satisfy the relevant requirements will be conferred upon the M.A. degree.

本课程是针对母语为非汉语的外国人和海外华人，培养了解中国、理解中华文化，具有较熟练的中国语言教学技能和跨文化交际能力， 胜任汉语教学任务的专门人才并以培养国际汉语教师为目标的学历教育。对修完全部课程，成绩合格，通过学位论文答辩，符合我校学位授予条件的学员，取得硕士研究生学历，授予汉语国际教育硕士学位。

General requirements 基本条件：

• Target Group: Non-Chinese citizens holding valid foreign ordinary passports

  招生对象: 持有效外国普通护照的非中国籍公民

• Age requirement: 18-55 years old

  年龄要求: 18-55周岁

• Physical Condition: In good health, meets the health examination standards of applying for a student visa or residence permit in China.

  身体状况: 身体健康，达到办理来华学习签证或居留证件的体检标准

• Moral Cultivation: The applicant should be friendly to China, honest, law-abiding, respects the customs of Chinese people and has no record of violating school rules, public security punishment or criminal record.

  道德修养: 对华友好，品行端正，遵纪守法，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯，无违规犯罪记录

• Applicants shall be Bachelor's degree holders.

  具有大学本科学历

• Diploma of final education or Pre-Graduating Certificate, original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English Translation.

  提供最终学历证书、学位证书原件或经过公证的复印件，应届生为预毕业证明原件。中、英文以外的文本还需提供公证过的中文或英文翻译件

• Full transcripts of final education, original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English Translation.

  最终学历教育阶段全部课程的成绩单原件或经过公证的复印件。中、英文以外的文本还需提供公证过的中文或英文翻译件

• Original copy of valid HSK test report：HSK 5(score 180 or above).

  有效的HSK证书：HSK五级180分及以上

• Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English from professor or associate professor.

  2封教授或副教授的推荐信，须为中文或英文原件

• Personal statement in Chinese or English including study and working experience, academic research experience and results, research proposal and so on.

  中文或英文个人陈述。内容应包括个人学习、工作经历（如有）、学术研究成果、硕士阶段的研究计划等

• Valid Passport copy.

  有效护照复印件

• Latest Visa copy (if available).

  最近的签证复印件（如有请提供）

• 2-inch photos, same as the one on the passport.

Curriculum 课程设置: 

• Program Duration: 2 years

  学制：2年

• In this course settings, practical application is the guide and training international Chinese teachers is the goal. Therefore, the courses will focus on training Chinese teaching skills, abilities of introducing Chinese culture and cross-cultural communication skills. The curriculum will focus on core courses mentioned above, and equipped with several modules.

  课程设置以实际应用为导向，以国际汉语教师的职业需求为目标，围绕汉语教学能力、中华文化传播能力和跨文化交际能力的培养，形成以核心课程为主导、模块拓充为补充、时间训练课程为重点的课程体系。

• Main courses: Second language acquisition, Case analysis and practice in classroom teaching, Cross-culture communication, A comparison between Chinese and other languages and Chinese teaching, Psychology of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, Chinese culture and arts, Modern Educational Technology, Lectures on linguistics, culture and education, etc.

  主要课程：第二语言学习得导论、课堂教学案例分析与实践、跨文化交际、汉外语言比较与汉语教学、国别与地域文化、汉语作为外语教学心理学、汉语课堂教学原理与设计、中华文化才艺与展示、现代语言教育技术、语言文化与教育讲座等。

Scholarship 奖学金: 

• International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship: full scholarship including tuition, accommodation, stipend, comprehensive medical insurance. Application time is usually from March to May every year.

  国际中文教师奖学金：全额奖学金，含学费、住宿费、生活费和综合医疗保险。申请时间为每年3-5月。

• Chinese Government Scholarship: Application time is usually from January to March every year.

  中国政府奖学金：申请时间为每年1-3月。

• A Guangdong Government Outstanding Foreign Student Scholarship of 20,000RMB is available after the applicant was admitted by SCNU. Application time is usually from April to September every year.

  广东省来粤奖学金：被学校录取后可以申请，一次性资助20,000元，择优录取。申请时间为每年4-9月。

Application Procedure 申请流程:    

1. Go to http：//istudy.scnu.edu.cn, create an individual account.

   登陆网址：http：//istudy.scnu.edu.cn,注册个人账户

2. Fill in personal information online, upload all documents as required and submit application form completely.（About 1-2 weeks for initial review）

   在线填写个人信息，并上传所需申请材料（参看注意事项1），成功提交申请表（初审时间约1—2周）

3. After passing the initial review, an email will be sent to pay the registration fee.

   如通过初审，申请人将会收到一封电子邮件，通知缴纳报名费

4. After confirming the reception of registration fee, school will schedule an interview and process the application of student visa.（Average processing time is about 10 weeks）

   学校确认收到报名费后，即将通知具体面试时间，并申请JW202表（处理时间约为10周） 

5. Admission Notice and JW202 will be mailed to the applicant a. required.  ( Mailing time is about 1 week)

   学校根据需求发放录取通知书和JW202表格（邮寄时间约为1周）

6. Go to local Chinese embassy and consulates to apply for student visa

   申请人持录取通知书和JW202表到当地中国使领馆申请学生签证

7. Register on time at SCNU

   按录取通知书时间来到SCNU注册报到

Tips 注意事项: 

1. Please upload all required documents to process the whole procedure. Each document must be less than 1M.

   请上传所需文件，以完成申请程序。每个文档必须小于1M。

2. Certificates, diplomas and transcripts must be notarized copies. All

3. documents must be translated into Chinese or English.

   证书、文凭、成绩单必须有经公证的复印件。所有文件应翻译成中文或英文。

4. The transfer application will not be accepted after two weeks of starting of school.

   开学两周后，转学申请不予受理。

5. Please upload valid passport and visa page, transcripts, attendance (above 80%) and transfer form if you have been studied in any school in China.

   如果您曾在中国的任何一所大学学习过，请上传您的护照、签证页，成绩单，考勤证明(80%以上)和转学证明。

6. International students from some countries are required to submit the resume and "non-criminal certification" notarized by the Chinese embassy. The specific requirements will be notified by email.

   部分国家的留学生需提交经中国大使馆公证的《无犯罪证明》和个人简历，具体要求将通过邮件通知。

7. Those under the age of 18 who apply for a degree or long-term education must have a guardian of Chinese nationality. The guardian's certificate must be notarized. The specific requirements will be notified by email.

   未满18周岁者，申请攻读学位或长期教育，必须具有中国国籍的监护人。监护人证明必须经过公证，具体要求将邮寄通知。

8. International students from some countries are required to submit evidence of financial and economic circumstances. The specific requirements will be notified by email.
