Course Overview

General Class

General Class consists of elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Students will be arranged to appropriate classes after the placement test upon registration.

Elementary Chinese (1)

Fit for students who have studied little Chinese, i.e. for beginners.

B

Elementary   Chinese (2)

Fit for students who have studied Chinese language for 6 months, or as an equivalent to New HSK Level 2-3.

C

Intermediate Chinese (1)

Fit for students who have studied Chinese language for 12 months, or as an equivalent to HSK level 3-4 (Scoring 180 ).

D

Intermediate Chinese (2)

Fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 18 months, or as an equivalent to HSK Level 4 (Scoring 210) or HSK Level 5 C (Scoring 180).

E

Advanced Chinese

Fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 2 years, or as an equivalent to the level of HSK Level 5 (Scoring 195) or above.

Intensive Class

Intensive Class is divided into elementary and intermediate levels .This Program is designed for international students who plan to improve their Chinese language proficiency in a short period of time. The courses are intensive and the teaching speed is rather quick in this program. Students should be able to improve their proficiency of Chinese language quicker than students in general class, allowing them to engage in major studies successfully.

Intensive Class A

Elementary

Fit for foreign students who have studied little Chinese and plan to improve their Chinese language proficiency in a short time. 1 semester of intensive Course is greater than or equal to 2 to 3 semesters of general courses.

Intensive Class B

Intermediate

Fit for students who have HSK Level 4 or already studied Intensive class A. 1   semester of intensive Course is greater than or equal to 2 to 3 semesters of general courses.

Intensive Class C

Intermediate

Fit for students who have HSK level 4 (Scoring 180) or above.

Study Duration

(1) Long-Term: 1 semester or 1 academic year;

(2) Short-Term: 1-3 months (Applicants can choose an appropriate course according to their Chinese language proficiency; accept transfer students).

Application Deadline and Enrollment

Application Deadline for Spring Semester is January 15. Class usually starts at the end of February.

Application Deadline for Autumn Semester is July 15. Class usually starts at the beginning of September.

Upon the successful completion of the courses and passing the tests, a certificate will be issued by CIC, SCNU.
